Principal's Corner

Dear Glenridge Families,
As we approach the end of the first quarter this Friday, I want to encourage all students to check in with their teachers to ensure that any outstanding assignments are submitted. This is a great opportunity to finish strong and set the tone for a successful school year.
Please note that next Monday will be a Teacher Work Day, which means no school for students. Enjoy the well-deserved three-day weekend!
We’re also excited to cheer on our Lady Lions as they compete in a home playoff soccer game this week, starting at 5:30 PM. Let’s show our school spirit and come out to support our team!
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.

Girls Coach: Graham Niemi
Boys Coach: Jerrod Jacoby

The boys were knocked out of the playoffs last week after another shoot-out. It was a tough way to exit the playoffs, but the team had a great season overall. The girls begin their playoff run this Monday at home.

Deans' Den

Greeting, Lions!
As deans, we see a lot of serious incidents that could have easily been avoided if our students would follow two very simple rules:
1.) Keep your hands to yourself:
  • NEVER hit, pull, push, or grab, even as a joke.
  • If it doesn't belong to you, leave it alone.
2.) T.H.I.N.K. before you speak:
  • is it TRUE?
  • is it HELPFUL?
  • is it INSPIRING?
  • is it NECESSARY?
  • is it KIND?
So often, the excuse is, "we were just playing," but the people who get hurt are not having any fun at all.
Parents and teachers: Please remind your students of these principles and encourage them to stand up for each other. Peer pressure can be positive when we all try to do what is right.

Glenridge Middle Happenings

Robotics Team 1
Robotics Team 2
While most of the Glenridge students were sleeping on Saturday, Ms. Guber took both Robotics Teams to Lake Highland Prep to compete in a programming scrimmage. It was a great learning experience for all. Both teams learned a lot and persevered. I think they will do great in the qualifier. 😁 The team names are The Mechanical Maniacs (7th and 8th Grade) and The Mechanical Monkeys (6th grade)

We are proud of their hard work and dedication.
Our Lions are making a difference!

Testing News

We have finished a majority of our first quarter testing. Ms. Burchins will call down remaining students Monday and Tuesday. If your child is not able to take their assessment, it will not negatively impact them.

Media Center Happenings

Our Lunch Bunch readers continue to grow. If your student would like to eat lunch in the media center and read quietly, make sure they check in with Ms. Moenssens between 9 and 9:30.

🧮 Math Support Sessions Begin Tuesday!
We’re excited to offer Math Support Sessions to help students strengthen their skills and prepare for end-of-year assessments. These sessions will run weekly until testing concludes.

📍 Location for All Sessions: Room 626

🌅 Morning Sessions
Days: Tuesday through Friday
Time: 8:45 AM – 9:25 AM
Entry: Students should enter through the front office.

🌇 Afternoon Sessions
Days: Tuesdays & Thursdays
Time: 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM

These sessions are a great opportunity for students to receive extra help, ask questions, and build confidence in math. We encourage all students who need support to attend!

Delayed Dismissal Process

There is a possibility (high likelihood) that during the first week(s) of school we have severe weather at the time of dismissal. If we are in a delayed dismissal hold, we will send out communication to all families, and we ask that you follow our procedures for safety and convenience.
  • If you plan on picking up your child, you must report to the front office with proper identification.
  • Our staff will greet you and ask for your child's name. We will call your student down from class and walk them to the front office and you can exit with your child through the back doors.
  • If you plan on picking up for someone else, YOU MUST BE on the approved pick up list. This doesn't change unless the parent requested a change. Please know that no matter how much we like you/trust you/know you, if you are not on a students approved Skyward list, my staff will not be able to release the student to you.
